Mulch Blowers

Cleaning the leaves that have piled up on a particular lawn can be a daunting task. Thankfully, we can always rely on mulch blowers.

However, there are certain things to consider in order to ensure that we will be able to purchase the right kind of mulch blowers for our needs. Here are 5 such considerations.

1. Do you really need a mulching blower? Often, a regular, old fashioned rake coupled with a few minutes of your time would be enough to get rid of the leaves that have scattered on your lawn. If such pileups are not regular enough to be onerous to clean, then you don’t really need to consider purchasing mini blower. But if pileups become uncontrollable because, say, of the number of deciduous trees in your lawn, or the general weather pattern in your area, then some help might be a good investment.

2. How big is your lawn? Even with the presence of factors that greatly contribute to the pileup of leaves on your lawn, if your lawn has a small area, then it’ll be easy to clean and purchasing a mulch blower will be a superfluous exercise and investment. If your lawn is big, then cleaning up the leaves will be a big undertaking indeed, and such tools can make things easier for you.

3. Will the landscape design of your lawn accommodate the usage of a powered blower? If the components of your lawn are placed near each other, then the space in between them may be too narrow for such blowers, or even lawnmowers for that matter. In which case, a manual approach to maintaining the lawn is more appropriate.

4. What kind of mulch or leaf blowers should you consider? There are electricity-powered straw, bark and lawn blowers. Generally, these are lighter than other varieties. However, you will need long electric cords to keep them operational, hence, making them unsuitable for sizable lawns. There are gas-powered blowers, which are generally bulkier and heavier because of the space they allot for the gas. But with the rising price of gas these days, this type of device may not be a wise choice. What kind of tool to buy is really up to you, as well as the conditions present in your lawn.

5. What kind of mulches need to be cleaned? Bark mulch, hardwood mulch, wood mulch, cedar mulch… all of these have varying density requiring particular kinds of mulch blowers of appropriate horse power. Shrubs, flowers, trees… these are plants residing in your lawn that require varying levels of blower strength so as not to compromise their wellbeing. All of these need to be considered so a healthy balance will be found in order to determine the right kind of garden tool that should be purchased.
